There are many renewable energy resources other than solar power (wind, hydropower, biofuel, natural gas, etc.). There are no energy resources, though, that match the combination of wealth, cleanliness and raw power of solar energy. Since the sun is all over the place and absorbing its energy has totally no impact on the environment, there can be no argument against efficient solar technology by any group, including the electric companies in PA where 68 million tons of coal-by far our dirtiest source of energy and 56 percent of the state’s energy production-are produced each year.
Solar technology is developing beyond basic panels as well: cells are becoming so advanced that solar power technology is rapidly drifting into the realm of science fiction. Perhaps, spray-on solar cells now exist and scientists are developing them for commercial use.
Your energy production rates rely on how many panels are used in your solar panel system. The more panels that you use, the more energy production you will have. When selecting your solar panel system, you need to base your choice on what your needs are for your location and your household demand. Warmer climates will require less solar panel than colder climates.
1. Solar energy is renewable. We certainly not have to worry about running out of sunlight or using it all up. The sun is a reliable power source meaning it’s always going to be there each day.
2. Solar energy is environmentally friendly. Compared to fossil fuels which release greenhouses gases, carcinogens and carbon dioxide, solar cells don’t release anything into the air.
3. Solar panels are very reliable. There are no moving parts so you don’t have to worry about replacing anything. Actually, most people generate electricity for 1000s of hours with little or no maintenance.
4. Solar cells make no noise while collecting energy. There are no other renewable energy sources that are totally silent.
5. You’re not required to connect to the power grid. You can be totally independent and live off-the-grid. Imagine never paying another monthly bill or hook-up charge.
6. Sell excess electricity. If you build a large enough solar panel system, you can make your electric meter spin backwards! Most power companies will happily buy or credit you for this excess electricity.
7. Government tax credits. Most governments will give some kind of tax credit or incentive for people buying solar energy systems. Normally, rebates typically cover 20-30% of the system cost. Contact your local representatives for more details.
Use of solar panels allows people and companies to enjoy the benefits of low taxes. This is because in most parts of the world, the taxes that are charged are about thirty percent less as compared to using other sources of energy. With all the taxes that one has to pay for every item acquired, this is a great opportunity to decrease spending on taxes. Since there is no monthly bill when using a solar panel, it makes it tax free. When using fossil fuel energy, this is no option since one has to pay their electricity on a monthly basis which in most cases is greatly taxed.
When installing solar panels, there is no large scale installation necessary. And so it requires very little space to install. This is very essential when it comes to fast growing regions and towns. The installation will mostly involve a single cell to constantly generate energy. Therefore a homestead requires a single cell. There is therefore no congestion and a continued supply to the high demand of energy. This maintains a good image in a community since crowding may make the place less attractive which may stop people from moving to the area since everyone wants to live somewhere they consider beautiful, for this reason, use of solar panels does not hinder with real estate sales.
